Makes me laugh…
One of my favorite “little things” about living in Germany is how many people think Jesse is my surname. Martin is so common for a first name and Jesse is NOT common for a guys name that they always ask me where the family name Jesse is from.
EXPATIPS: Cell Phones
This may seem otherwise uninteresting, but I recently discovered that my phone carrier had languages preferences available. FIND A CARRIER THAT DOES THAT. It’s really helpful. Google translate is good and all, but during a phone call time is a little sensitive… In case you are making a jump abroad sometime - worth looking into.

Passing the evening… Ok, mom - this was SEVERAL evenings - not one night. Got some dunkel bier recommendations from the local purveyor. Interesting note - because of government regulations on preserving the history of the craft - there’s only few ingredients allowed in the creation of Deutschland beer. Grain, hops, water and yeast - makes for considerably healthier beer than your average.
